Meet Stephanie – our Member of the Month for May!

Hello everyone!

We are so excited to bring you our next edition of our Member of the Month series, where we feature some of the amazing people who are part of our Loyobo FIT family. We think it is important to share their stories to help inspire others and to celebrate their amazing accomplishments!

This month that member is Stephanie Charity, who is one of our All In Virtual Members. Our entire team is so impressed with her consistency when it comes to class attendance, how she’s created an extremely well-rounded work-out routine for herself and all the positive ways she shows up for herself and our community!

This month, STEPHANIE, we celebrate YOU! We are so grateful to know you. Thank you for being a part of our family and for sharing your story with us!


How long have you been coming to Loyobo FIT and what initially inspired you to try a class?

I have been a Loyobo FIT member for two years now. I was looking for fitness classes that were local and held at a convenient time. What I found was friendly and professional instructors, quality equipment, a fun atmosphere and a variety of great classes. That kept me coming back!

What are your top 3 health and fitness goals?

My goal is to keep healthy and stay happy and for me exercise and community are a critical part of that. Loyobo FIT has provided me a space for both of these for which I am very grateful. For me life long fitness is the goal. I don’t like to put any more pressure on myself than that. Life has enough demands. To achieve my goal I know that I just need to make exercise a part of my life one day at a time.

What is one of the challenges that you have faced in your health/fitness journey? What have you found most helpful in working to overcome it?

The biggest challenge for me when it comes to maintaining my health and fitness routine is TIME. As a working mom, there are so many demands and finding time for just me is a real challenge. To keep consistent, I schedule my classes each week and put them in my family calendar so that my family knows that I am gone for that hour. The virtual classes have added additional flexibility since I now don’t have to worry about child care. I can just go down to the basement and do my class. This has allowed me to do three classes a week regularly compared to just one!

What was your life like before you started at Loyobo FIT? How did you feel about your body?

I have always been an active person and was always confident in my body. But as life got busier and I was having to juggle being a mom, my professional life and family life, I couldn’t make time for exercise. I found that when I looked in the mirror I didn’t like what I saw and the confidence in my body was no longer there.

What has changed since you joined the Loyobo Family and started coming to class regularly?

Getting back into a fitness routine at Loyobo FIT immediately made me feel good to be in my body again. It took a bit of time to regain the strength in my body but Loyobo was always very supportive. The positive body messaging here has also rubbed off making me proud of the body that I have, the things that it has done in the past and the things that it allows me to do everyday.

What is your favorite memory or achievement of your time at Loyobo FIT?

My one hundred class bracelet is an achievement as it signifies that I have made the time to complete those classes.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their health and fitness journey?

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your main goal should be to show up. Eventually it will just be part of your life!

What is your favorite class and why?

I don’t have a favourite class – Tone and Flex and Barre Strength as they make me feel strong and enjoy some good music. Yoga to relax and stretch the aches and pains away. Zumba for an active laugh. Step it Up for a good sweat. I love them all!

What is your favorite snack?

My favourite snack is yogurt, granola and berries.
