You heard that right – veggies in your smoothie! – and doesn’t that just look delicious?!
I am a HUGE fan of smoothies for breakfasts! They’re versatile, quick, convenient for those on-the-go and they can be LOADED with healthy ingredients or turned into a treat:)
I’ve had many clients say that they just can’t eat first thing in the morning and I often recommend starting with a smoothie as their first meal – it’s easier for our bodies to digest as the food has been blended into liquid form AND it can be packed with lots of macronutrients, vitamins and minerals.
This is one of my favourite smoothie recipes – I almost always have frozen cauliflower and bananas on hand. Cacao powder is what comes from the cacao bean plant when it gets processed AND BONUS – there’s no added sugar in it!
Some people may find this recipe a tad bitter so I suggest using less cauliflower and perhaps cacao powder when trying it for the first time and then slowly adding more until you reach your preferred version. I often add only half of a banana to cut down on sugars and limit how sweet it can be – if you prefer it to be sweeter, keep the whole banana and even try adding some dates or maple syrup.
