"My fitness journey started in 2014 when I decided to try my first Zumba class. For the first time in my life, I found a safe space in the gym. I was having so much fun, I forgot about my insecurities and the fact that I was exercising.

After a few months, the instructor encouraged me to sign up for an instructor training. I decided to take the leap! Since then, my life has been forever changed and I have lost over 45lbs. 

I am an ACE certified and insured group fitness instructor, licensed in Zumba and Strong by Zumba. My passion is helping to create the same safe space that helped me find my place in a gym. I want to help men and women to feel strong and see what their bodies are truly capable of. And most of all, I want to help show you how fitness can be fun and a source of self-confidence!"

Lori's passion for optimizing health and wellness through nutrition, physical fitness and achieving a positive mindset stems from a desire to be proactive and demonstrate that we CAN thrive as we age! Lori strives to support individuals of ALL abilities to be the best versions of themselves and also specializes in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Being a bit of a spark plug, Lori has pursued several educational pathways including: a Diploma in Educational Assistant, Certificate in American Sign Language; and is currently studying to achieve her certification as a Nutritional Consultant in 2019; with more certifications to follow! (Clearly she is a lifelong student!)

In her spare time she likes to curl up with her two fur babies, read vegan cookbooks and enjoy a good cup of tea.

Katie Ewald

Pilates instructor

With a background in professional dance, Katie came to Pilates out of a deep appreciation for the potential of the human body. 

For thirteen years, alongside her study of the Pilates method, she was rehearsing and touring across Canada and Europe. In 2007 she suffered a substantial dance-related injury, and experienced, first-hand, the rehabilitative power of Pilates. 

This intensified her passion to help others on their own journey towards greater mobility and freedom from chronic physical pain. Now she spends her energy helping people transform their discomfort into pain and feel like themselves again!

Dionne Galan


After many years of practicing yoga, I finally took the leap to become a certified Yoga Teacher – subsequently changing my world forever!  My passion for playing sports, especially soccer, kept me coming back to yoga to balance my body.  After a “life time” of the corporate grind, and using Yoga to help balance my mind, I finally made the decision to leave grind and the GTA behind - moving to Guelph where I began teaching Yoga full time.  Since joining the Guelph community I have added Pilates training to my repertoire. Gaining a deeper understanding of functional movement, bio-mechanics and proper alignment for all types of body types. 

 I am also certified in Aerial Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga and am currently studying myofascial release.  I have taken a great interest in using Yoga to help counteract the affects of a sedentary lifestyle. It’s never too late to start moving!

When I’m not teaching I’m usually spending time with my family or hiking with my dog on the trails surrounding the city!   As a teacher it’s important to me to continue to learn, to inspire and be inspired by the clients in my classes. “When one teaches, two learn”

Sobia Nusrat

I started my fitness journey while pursuing my master’s degree in the US. Attending group fitness helped me deal with the stresses of graduate life and integrate into the community. Since then I have been committed to following a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as motivating and enabling others to meet their fitness goals.

With over five years of experience as a group fitness instructor, my goal is to continuously improve my skills and knowledge and create a safe, inspiring and fun experience for people coming to my classes. I make every effort to customize my instruction and class formats to meet the needs of individuals!

I’ve worked with corporate organizations, commercial studios, clubs and educational institutions in both Singapore and Pakistan (where I’m originally from!) and find great joy in contributing positively to the physical health and mental well being of people from different walks of life. My aim is to consistently broaden my horizons within the field of health and fitness.
