Soup Swap
December 15, 2019 3:15-4:45 pm

Join us on Sunday December 15th from 3:15pm - 4:45pm for our very first Soup Swap! This is a great opportunity for you to try some comforting and satiating recipes and take lots home to have on hand for the busy holiday season or freeze for future use!

This event is being run by Lori, our in house Holistic Nutritionist, and she has something exciting in store for all who attend. Lori will be creating a Customized Recipe Book filled with all of the soup recipes available at the event - plus some bonus recipes from her personal collection;) - for you to take home and use in future meal prep and planning! She will also give you tips and tricks for the recipes more nutrient dense by adding or substituting ingredients.

Some guidelines for how the event will run and how you can participate:

- All participants must prepare at least 4.5L of their chosen recipe (3.75L for participants and 0.75L for sampling).

- Everyone will get to take home 2 cups worth of 8 of the recipes. We will be drawing numbers to see who gets which soup, and then there will be time for further swapping at the end amongst participants. Think trading cards but instead the currency is soup;)

- Recipes must be submitted no later than Monday December 9th. To encourage a variety of soups being offered, only one version of a specific recipe will be allowed - variations are permitted but must be approved by Lori. Be sure to submit your chosen recipe as soon as possible so that you avoid any upsets with duplicates.

- Everyone participating is responsible for bringing their own containers to bring the soup home - this way we can be as environmentally friendly as possible! Suggestions for containers include: mason jars, tupperware, freezable ziploc bags if you're in a pinch, AND you can even save any yogurt, sour cream or other similar containers from your daily food prep at home to reuse! I would like to encourage people to save up any containers from food purchases and bring to the event in case extras are needed.

- All prepared recipes must be brought to the event in two leak proof vessels - 1 for the participant portions and 1 for the sampling (amounts listed above). Lori will then heat up the portion for sampling and divide portions to go home in the containers brought by each participant.

Please let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances and we will make sure to promote the preparation of a variety of dietary friendly recipes amongst participants.

Cost to attend is $30+hst for Members & $39.50+hst for Non Members.

There are only 12 spots available so register now to secure your spot! The deadline to register is Monday December 9th.

We can't wait to see you there:) Soups on!
