This past Friday, I made a very special, very big announcement about our Loyobo Family: WE ARE MOVING!
I cannot express how incredibly excited I am for this next part of our journey together. So, here are all the juicy details!
For the last 15 months, we have been renting studio space by the hour from Guelph Youth Dance and Stone Lantern Studio Arts at 42 Quebec Street in Downtown Guelph. As amazing hosts as they have been, my dream has always been to open my studio and create a proper home for Loyobo FIT. I had originally wanted to keep our downtown location, but after many, many (MANY) months of looking, I knew that it was going to be very hard to find a space that a) didn't require a massive amount of renovations, b) had the features I wanted, and c) didn't cost an absurd amount of money.
On June 21, 2018, an opportunity fell at my feet and it has been a whirlwind ever since. On July 15, 2018, I took posession of our new home at 199 Victoria Rd South. While I am sure some of you are just as sad as I am to leave the downtown core, this is an amazing opportunity for us to grow and offer more services to our members! The space is HUGE and I am absolutely full of Pinterest-fueled ideas of how we are going to make it our home.
I hope you are open to joining me in the new space.
The Loyobo FIT mission is to help people, especially women, learn to find their strength, confidence and love their body for what it can do. The focus is on building a community where members connect with one another, providing education and individualized attention, as well as creating a safe environment free of judement and full of #loyobo moments.
I want to show that there is a different, better way of doing fitness. I want to offer a holistic space, collaborating with other instructors and health professionals to help support you in all aspects of your journey to health and feeling like the #awesome person I know that you are.
This studio will be a safe space, with 2 dedicated change rooms, 2 washrooms and a large open concept studio. There will be two other spaces available that I hope will be home to complimentary services and professionals. It will be bright, modern and fun! I want it to make you feel better just by stepping through the door.
To give you a small taste of what the new studio will offer, we will be working to expand our schedule, bring on new instructors and introduce new class formats:
- Pound classes
- Yoga classes
- Heels classes (yup. dancing in your sexy stillettos!)
- Happy hour classes on Fridays (different classes every week that are new and exciting, featuring guest instructors and special formats to provide options for Friday Nights Out!)
- More live workshops, courses and special events that provide additional support, opportunities, and ways to engage our community!
Classes will start at the new studio on Sunday August 12, 2018.
Until that time, the current schedule will continue at 42 Quebec and Exhibition Park. Once we start at the new studio, some of our outdoor classes will be moving inside... but we are going to work hard to keep a few for you until the end of August.
Over the next few weeks, there is going to be a LOT of work to do in order to get the new studio up and running. Make sure to follow us on Instagram (@LoyoboFIT) where we will be posting lots of sneek peaks and progress updates!

And the big finale - We would like to invite you to join us for a pre-launch party, to get an excusive first look at the new studio location before we open to the public!
There will be food, drink and dancing, as well as giveaways, raffle prizes and more!
As you can imagine, taking this leap comes with a big list of start-up costs! All the funds from ticket sales to this event will help us cover things like paint (its a really big space!), signage, equipment, and of course the amazing prizes at the event!
Tickets are available for $30 in our online store.
Think of this as our Loyobo FIT Baby Shower. :) If you are not located in Guelph or are unable to make it to the launch, please still consider buying a ticket to help support us and build this dream! We would be very grateful. Seriously. SUPER DUPER grateful.
A big, official grand opening will be taking place sometime in the Fall once we get a little bit more settled.
Stay tuned as well - the new Fall schedule for the studio space will be coming by the end of this month!
If you have any questions, please let me know.
And a BIG thank you to each and every one of you for making this possible and believing in me, and Loyobo FIT.
I cannot wait for you to join me at 199!
See you all soon,
LOTS OF LOVE,
